We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the holy, inspired Word of God, given by the Holy Spirit through human authors. The Scriptures bear witness to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and are the sole, infallible authority for faith and life.

“You search the Scriptures … these are they which testify of Me.” (John 5:39)

What the Scriptures teach remains fully relevant for all generations, because

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing as three Persons: God the Father, God the Son—our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ—and God the Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully God, and together they are one in essence, will, and glory, bearing witness to one another.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God … And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John 1:1, 14)

“Father, glorify Me in Your own presence with the glory that I had with You before the world existed.” (John 17:5)

“When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth.” (John 16:13)

Salvation in Jesus Christ Alone

We believe that God’s plan of salvation is fulfilled solely and completely in Jesus Christ, in accordance with the Apostles’ Creed:
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead, rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven, and will come again to judge the living and the dead.

The universal need for salvation is declared in Scripture:

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

“The wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23)

Through the death and resurrection of His only begotten Son, God has made full provision for our salvation:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:24)

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

The Church

We believe that the true Church is made up of all who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and serve Him in spirit and in truth. The Church is the Body of Christ, of which He alone is the Head.

“He is the head of the body, the church.” (Colossians 1:18)

“For by one Spirit we were all baptised into one body.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)

The Christian Calling

We believe it is the responsibility of every Christian to proclaim, in word and deed, the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ, in obedience to His command:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations … teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19–20)

We believe the calling of every Christian life is summed up in love and obedience:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind … and you shall love your neighbour as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37, 39)
